WEWATCH was responsible for handling security and safety management for Dakar Rally that extends through the complex deserts and mountains of Saudi Arabia. The challenge was to maintain a tight security blanket over a myriad of competitors driving motorbikes, quad bikes, cars, and trucks. This was also coupled with maintaining a secure COVID bubble to protect the competitors and race officials from any potential risk.
A robust security and safety management plan was developed, accommodating not only the risks that come with motor sporting events, but also the COVID-19 global pandemic.
We were able to do so through employing our SMART key performance indictor – Smart, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely, which supported and demonstrated our safety metrics. In addition, by promoting our industry-led KPIs and immense experience in the industry, we successfully gained the confidence of our clients. The execution of our detailed plan allowed our security and safety teams to move seamlessly forward alongside the race participants and their support teams. As the event came to an end, WEWATCH management received great positive feedback from the client.
